Advocates of Love’s Child Highlight: Junior

Family—a safe haven of people who bring us into the world, love us, and encourage our growth. Families can be beautiful and full of hope. In many places, for many people, family is everything. However, in the province of Samaná in the Dominican Republic, it isn’t always so. Sometimes, like in Junior’s case, one’s family becomes a significant source of pain.

Junior’s Story

Meet 9-year old Junior Martinez. We ask for continued prayers over him for his healing and spiritual growth in the coming years.

He witnessed multiple traumatic events as his father physically beat his mother. Then his father was killed right in front of him. He was placed with us due to his mother’s inability to care for him because of her mental health. We have not seen this level of trauma in a child of this age before.

Please pray for his emotional, spiritual, and physical healing. The degree of severe trauma that Junior experienced means he will need intense treatment and prayer. Romans 12:21 says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” May God continually pour His goodness through us to these hurting children.
