We’re searching for an individual or couple to report directly to our Executive Director and work closely with our executive team in the Dominican Republic. The missionary(ies) will serve and live at our Samaná campus.

This function is responsible for fulfilling the mission of impacting the community and most vulnerable children in the Dominican Republic. The missionary(ies) will serve our Samaná campus’ overall direction, leading a high performing team, ensuring accountability for outcomes.

A part of the US team reporting directly to the Executive Director, making sure there is full alignment with the U.S. Board of Director’s approved strategy.

The missionary lead must be able to lead change projects, foster team collaboration and partnership, process improvement, relationship management, manage local mission trips in alignment with the organization’s vision, values, and biblically based principals.


Responsibilities:


Organization Mission


• Responsible for implementation of AOL’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission. Responsible for the enhancement of AOL’s image by being active and visible in
the local community and by working closely with other professional, religious, and private organizations.


• Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance AOL’s Mission.


• Responsible for communicating effectively with the executive director, providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all requested information and reports.


Personnel Management


• Assist the executive team members in determining and prioritizing strategies for effectiveness within the children’s home.


• Assist and communicate with team on building stronger community relationships, involvement, and participation.


• Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff to fill positions in Dominican Republic.


• Responsible for the supervision of the team in the Dominican Republic, allotting appropriate resources, ensuring appropriate records are kept, and setting target goals in
accordance with organization’s objectives as defined by the US Board.


Operations


• Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are effective.


• Oversee strategic initiatives for in-country donors, donations, tours, visits and missionary trips.


• Review, design, and execute improvements to org structure find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them.


• Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity.

 

• Responsible for the creation and implementation of policies that protect children, staff, visitors, and children’s families while on location.


• Must cultivate and ensure a safe and healthy environment for all staff and visitors.


• Must ensure that the organization’s operations meet all local government requirements.


Financial Management


• Develops and implements effective resource management to maximize mission impact and ensure good stewardship.


• Responsible for accurate and timely annual plans and budgeting.


• Create realistic phased budgets for all programs and departments.


• Ensure efficient and fully compliant financial management in the allocation/budgeting, disbursement, and accounting for all resources.


• Ensure proper use of financial record systems in country as well as data quality to enable reporting and analysis.


• Responsible for review and signing of all local notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.


• Run in-country payroll.
