We have established two churches that are designed explicitly for children ages 2 -17 years of age. The goal of these Churches is to provide spiritual nourishment for the children we serve. The churches are safe and open landmarks within the communities and serve. They are a positive conduit for the continual integration of faith-based living that the children we serve and people from within the community where they are located, can experience.
Fundación Defensores De Amor is the only resource for vulnerable and orphaned children in Los Corrales, Distrito Municipal Samana, Dominican Republic. The property is 1.4 acres, with two new construction single family homes and one more in development, slated to be complete in Fall 2020. The Children’s Home is home to 28 children. Casa de Rosa will become missionary quarters once the third home is complete. specifically designed as a loving, nurturing, comforting home where the children can relax and be themselves, rather than an institution or an orphanage. Fundacion Defensores De Amor partners with a local church and has a loving staff who act as family for these children, as part of their ministry.
We are in the final stages of construction on a new campus – our Hope House! This building will give us the ability to bring in more children for full-time care and support. Aligning your family name or company name with this project is a great way to ensure its legacy lives on forever. With your help, we can bring in more beds, dressers, couches, and other furnishings and decorations to create a home environment.
Community-Based Care is a program offered to children who can safely live with a CONANI-approved family member. These children have a qualified caretaker, but are grossly lacking in physical, medical and/or educational care. Clothing, meals, medical, and/or educational sponsorship is their critical need, and is met through this program. The Community-Based Care Program is a solution that defers orphan status and provides children with the same standard of care as offered in the Children’s Home, but from a suitable family member that lives in the community.
