    Samuel has been in our community care program since birth. He has a loving extended family that provides for his emotional needs. He is cared for by his grandparents, both of which are dealing with significant health and financial issues. Samuel’s mother has been mentally incapacitated since birth and is unable to care for him. He is a sweet, warm and friendly boy.  He enjoys playing with his friends and having fun.  He likes trucks, cars, coloring and blowing bubbles.

  • Jeffrey

    At age 3, Jeffrey was accepted into our community care program. His mother is deaf, mute and mentally disabled. She is unable to provide the care he needs. Jeffrey’s grandmother approached the children’s home for placement of 4 of the 7 children she was caring for. At that time, Jeffrey was malnourished and lacked clothing. As part of our community care program, Jeffrey was able to stay living with his grandmother and now receives food, clothing, tutoring, and schooling. Jeffrey continues to grow and is now a healthy weight with all his essential needs being met.  He is an active boy and enjoys playing sports, especially soccer. He enjoys the company of his cousins and usually has a big smile on his face.

  • Jody

    At age 6, Jody was accepted into our community care program. Jody’s parents died when she was 4 years old. She has 3 brothers. Her grandmother approached the children’s home for placement of her and her 3 siblings. When we began providing care for Jody, she was very malnourished and in need of an important surgery. Jody is a very happy and upbeat girl who loves playing with dolls, painting and singing.  She wants to become a doctor to help those in need.  She enjoys being the only girl in her sibling group of four and has a great bond with her female cousins.

  • Fernando

    Fernando was born to a community care program member who is 16 years old and comes from an impoverished family. He resides with his disabled grandfather, mother and her two siblings. His grandfather, a disabled fisherman, has limitations in his ability to walk, get around, and therefore provide for the family.  We continue to partner with this family to provide essential needs for Fernando and his family and educational opportunities for his mother and her two siblings.

  • Franyeli

    At age 7, Franyeli was accepted into our community care program. His parents died when he was 5. He has 2 brothers and a sister. Franyeli’s grandmother approached the children’s home for placement of him and his 3 siblings. When we began providing care for Franyeli and his siblings, we found that they were sleeping on a blanket on concrete floors. Today he has a bed with adequate food and clothing. Franyeli does have some health issues that make him susceptible to getting sick and recently had a surgery on his foot to help correct a birth defect. He is very loving, humble and mellow.  Despite his physical limitations, he never passes up an opportunity to join in on the fun.  He likes to help others, swim, run and paint, but his favorite activity is eating.  He enjoys all kinds of food and is always willing to try something new and share it with others.
